4 Paddling Trips

We do like to venture beyond Central London at weekends, particularly to get onto moving water.

Many trips are to competitive events and several of us are
active slalom competitors. Slaloms give us a chance to paddle “white water”
on weirs and man-made courses as well as rivers. The club has a number of slalom K1 competition kayaks (donated by past members) and a competition C2.

We also go away for training and for purely social paddles, see our Reports section for more. We regularly go to Symonds Yat on the River Wye each year. A growing number of members are taking up sea kayaking.

Those who need equipment for trips can borrow it from the Club: ten of the
kayaks we have at the pool plus the competition boats are fitted out for
river use; we also have a relatively good stock of personal equipment. The
Club also has a couple of tents that members can borrow.
